Sometimes, I hate my job. I love medicine, don't get me wrong. But sometimes, I hate that I have the word INTERN attached to me. I seriously think it must be tattooed on my forehead in ink that only the residents and attendings can see. Because, yes ... Boston Medical is obviously a teaching hospital. But they don't do as much teaching as they think they do. I'm an Intern, yes. But that doesn't mean you ask for my opinion and then completely disregard it. If I'm right, then you tell me I'm right. You don't pretend like I'm wrong, and then come back with a course of treatment for something I've diagnosed, and act like it was your stroke of genius that made the diagnosis.
I think I just need a vacation. But where the hell am I going to go?
